No.26 Makers Emporium run by Rotherham Apprentices
No.26 Makers Emporium is an exciting retail space showcasing handmade products by local crafters, designers and artists, and it is run day to day by Rotherham apprentices working on retail apprenticeships with The Source.
The store is a partnership between Rotherham Council, The Source and Rotherham Youth Enterprise opened in April 2014 and is an example of the rejuvenation of Rotherham High Street.
No26 offers a unique shopping experience for Rotherham shoppers and aims to be the ‘Independent Alternative’ by offering a range of locally produced items.
More than 50 different makers have populated the space over since its opening with an array of unique products including jewellery, home-ware, clothing, accessories, gifts, textiles, artwork & much, much more!
The project also supports youth employment in the area with staff being made up from mostly retail apprentices who will be studying towards a qualification in retail at The Source whilst learning on the job in the store.
