This qualification is designed for those learners who undertook their Door Supervisor qualification prior to launch of the QCF Door Supervisor qualification. It allows them to meet their mandatory top-up requirements for Door Supervisors and to retain their SIA licence. From February 4th 2013, all Door Supervisors with a pre-QCF qualification will need to pass a ‘Upskilling Door Supervisors’ award before they are able to renew their SIA licence.
This qualification comprises two mandatory units – Maybo Physical Intervention and Safety Awareness. Physical Intervention Skills covers knowledge and practical skills; Safety Awareness covers knowledge of counter terrorism issues, first aid awareness and requirements in dealing with children and young people.
You will also receive a training book, which is yours to keep, and dinner will provided on each day of the course.
The course is assessed over two units.
Unit 1: Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
This unit is assessed in two parts. Part one is a practical test and part two is a written test set by HABC and marked by the tutor.
Unit 2: Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors within the Private Security Industry
Assessed by a 25 minute, 15 question multiple-choice examination. Candidates must achieve a score of at least 11 out of 15 to pass this unit.
