COURSE: Marketing Apprenticeship

What apprenticeships do you do?

I’m doing a Level 2 Marketing Apprenticeship at AESSEAL® in Rotherham. I’m based in the Marketing team and it’s been really good.

What is the best thing about your apprenticeship?

I’m really enjoying making posters using programmes like InDesign. I’m also the assistant editor of our staff newsletter which is really good because I get to pick things that go into the web and paper versions.

Since beginning my apprenticeship, I have started learning how to use new design programmes which allow me to create artwork. My favourite so far is InDesign, although it is a bit complicated to use. My personal goal is to learn how to use it for every kind of design by this time next year.

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship with AESSEAL®?

Initially, I was going to study A Levels but I have a few friends who work at AESSEAL® and they told me to come to the Open Day hosted here. Everyone of them said how good this company is to work for, so I decided to go to the event. I spoke to lots of people at the stalls but in the end Jasmine – who is now my mentor – really sold the apprenticeship to me. So I applied and now I’m working here.

I really like creating things that other people can see and things that promote the company. The role is quite creative and, in the end, this is what made me apply for it.

What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

Apart from creating posters and proofing the newsletter, I support the marketing team by doing admin tasks like raising POs and things like that. I also monitor our marketing stock which is fun because I get to re-order things. Getting new merchandise delivered to the office really makes my day, it’s like Christmas!
