Case Study: Taylor Corey

AESSEAL® PLC

What apprenticeships do you do?

Currently I am working in the marketing team at AESSEAL® where I’m studying a Level 2 Sales Apprenticeship.

What is the best thing about your apprenticeship?

The best thing is the way the company is run. I am constantly learning every day and I feel like I’m able to drive the business forward and progress. I enjoy processing the leads that come in and sending them to the right sales person so they can help customers. It feels like a big responsibility and that I have an impact. I also like interacting with other people in the office and getting to meet new people.

Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship with AESSEAL®?

I decided to apply for an apprenticeship at AESSEAL® because people who I know work here told me how that the company are really good with apprentices. It’s very encouraging how the company supports young people. I saw this first hand on the Open Day they hosted because they had a range of people who had progressed from an apprenticeship through to higher roles within the company talking to us.

I always wanted to do an apprenticeship because the work experience is much more valuable to me and working in a business first hand is better than being in a classroom. I prefer the work experience side of my apprenticeship, definitely.

As for why I decided on a Sales Apprenticeship, I think it’s a good department which gives you overall knowledge of the company and how a company works. Sales is a very good place to start working, I think. I want to start my own business some day and I thought this role would help reach this goal. I also like being able to get out of the office and meet customers.

What do you do on a day-to-day basis?

The sales team ask me to create presentations for their customers. They give me some information but I also do quite a bit of research using the company’s intranet so that I put a bit of myself into the presentation. I also help out the marketing team and having been helping them with their most recent campaign which has been great.
