Myprint Partners are celebrating National Apprenticeship Week by showing off their Apprentice – Tyler Cade.
Tyler who has been with Myprint since January 2017, is working towards his Warehousing and Storage Level 2 Apprenticeship. His main duties include managing deliveries, sorting out the stock, and preparing the paper for the main printing press ready for the daily shift.
Tyler says, ‘working and interacting with the team has improved my confidence massively, I really enjoy it here – especially driving the fork lift’.
He also receives monthly Warehousing and Health & Safety training from Andrew Patrick at The Source Skills Academy who comments ‘Tyler has made excellent progress throughout his employment at Myprint Partners. During his time as an Apprentice Tyler has grown in confidence and been able to learn new skills that will help him build a successful career within the print industry and beyond.’
Business owner Richard Green is a big believer in home grown talent and in the Apprenticeship route because that is how he started out back in 1987. He comments ‘It’s good to be able to give young people the chance to improve their skills and build a career. The Apprenticeship programme was invaluable to me when I first began working in print. Tyler has really developed since joining the business last year in both skills and confidence and has fitted in well with the team. He helps manage deliveries and prepares the paper stock for jobs on the press which increases our efficiency by 30%. We are now looking to grow the business further by offering another Apprentice the chance to work with us as a Trainee Printer.’
Who knows, maybe these next generation Apprentices will be the business owners and employers of the future?
